Lights, Actions!
Posted on Dec 4th, 2016 Comments (0)
Many houses here at Four Seasons at Elm Tree are twinkling brightly as we all continue to add our festive holiday decorations. Chilly air and darker evenings push us to get as much done as we can to prepare for family and company throughout December. It’s so nice to live near shops and grocery stores to keep up the momentum more easily! Never a dull moment in our over-55 community as we check our calendars and try to attend the many ongoing activities.
The Four Seasons Singers are rehearsing and performing often now, readying our own concert, and the decorating of the clubhouse is completed for all to enjoy. Some of us are ready to wander the neighborhood and sing seasonal carols soon, too!
Meanwhile, cookie-baking, gift wrapping and card writing are filling the days between card games, book club, men’s pool, groups of knitters and quilters, and a variety of exercising. The monthly luncheons for the men and women are scheduled with a special one the ladies created for extra fun. Another special dinner is also planned!
Our property manager and three board members have kept our development budgeted well as we come to the end of another year. We are quite fortunate to have the professionalism and friendliness they extend to all of us as they continue their efforts to be both good leaders and neighbors.
Four Seasons at Elm Tree offers so many blessings as the seasons change and our time and interests keep us active seniors.
Fall Daze!

Suddenly, it’s mid-November! Four Seasons at Elm Tree continues to present so many choices of activities that our holiday preparations are squeezed into the month! Fall and Spring seem to give us overlapping options for fun together!
We’ve voted, honored our military veterans with a light brunch, flag ceremony and song, removed Jack-o-Lanterns and trimmed our perennials, while allowing the colorful mums to continue to grace our front yards.
The biennial Art & Crafts’ Show was well-attended at the clubhouse where several of us exhibited so much creativity! In an over-55 community, there are always new things to learn from experienced neighbors who have time and patience to show and tell!
A new Healthy Lifestyle group has begun to learn more about wellness as we age. Nutrition and exercise are featured weekly, and a group ethic is promoting weight loss as well as food preparation ideas. The Scouting for Food project is set for the month as we continue to contribute to our local
Mount Joy Food Pantry in many ways including some of us volunteering there regularly.
Leaves are blowing; we’re heating our homes once again; and plans for family Thanksgiving as well as Christmas decorating at the clubhouse are showing us that this month is ending much too quickly!
