Enjoying a New Year!
Posted on Jan 16th, 2017 Comments (0)
Mid-January finds many of us amidst southern warmth and enjoying
other friends for awhile. Meanwhile, the Four Seasons at Elm Tree monthly
newsletter continues to be available at a click of a computer key! All of us
are updated and can check our calendars for upcoming activities. The
published monthly calendar accompanying the newsletter has times for
events and is also a wonderful part of volunteer efforts to keep us informed.
As part of an over-55 community, we are a bit more available to choose
something new to try alone or with neighbors. New year; new fun!
Recent visits to the clubhouse have shown more people exercising
away the gloomier winter days while learning to be healthier at the weekly
Wellness Group gatherings. The Quilting-Sewing Group has been creating
many different items while helping each other with their projects. The
Needlers are knitting and crocheting pretty and practical things for gifts and
donations as well as for each other.
Our Property Manager has set out 3 tile examples so we may vote to
choose one for the trim on our newly renovated swimming pool…we’ll be
so happy to begin using it come Memorial Day!
So many of us continue to give back to our local community without
particular rewards, but recently, we have received a few letters from the
Troops who enjoyed all the Christmas cookies the Women’s Association
members baked, packed and mailed to them. Such gratification feels so
good when we hear how simple pleasures are appreciated!
It isn’t hard, in our over-55 neighborhood, to keep as well as possible
and as busy as we can when so many resources and friends are nearby
and ready to join us!

Renewal: It's 2017!
Posted on Jan 1st, 2017 Comments (0)
A glittery New Year’s Eve in our clubhouse at Four Seasons at Elm Tree brought friends and neighbors together once again for festivity! Good food, TV football, the ball countdown, and enjoyment of all who could gather were great ways to end the old year. Many houses still sparkle from holiday lighting as we un-trim the tree and decorations in the clubhouse and at home. Many of us who volunteer will resume committee meetings and make new plans for activities and programs for 2017. And, many of us will be heading south for some relaxing times. Men’s and Women’s monthly luncheons out are scheduled with talk of reserving a spot already; Book Club readers are checking the calendar to make sure they’re ready to discuss the latest read; the exercise group is continuing, especially after all those holiday baked treats! Our over-55 community has renewed its Helping Hands program wherein we can list different ways to offer assistance to any of us who may require a hand when we’re limited. Running errands, cooking, driving to appointments, yard work, and other needs are available to those who just ask! Busyness is a happy, cooperative activity in itself and we all make choices to enjoy whatever we can. Retirement is warm and friendly here!
