Come with Rain…

…said Robert Frost, To The Thawing Wind ! April may be leaving as March was to have begun, but we, over-55 members of Four Seasons at Elm Tree, certainly know how to fend well during weather anomalies. As the Norwegians make clear, free air life equals being outside, aiding our minds and spirits. We would, of course, prefer lunar days full of the lovely sunshine and kinder breezes we’ve sampled lately. One of those is worth two weeks in length here!
Happy to see our landscapers mowing green grass again, we live with green spaces motivating physical activity and reducing stress. Cultivating awe in our everyday cycles of isolation from the covid pandemic is a powerful tonic for both body and soul. Social stimulations via Skype and Face time visits, phone calls, walks with one another, all while distancing and masking appropriately, have given way now to more acceptable pleasures: clubhouse meetings, library checks, card playing, workout exercising, and outside gatherings for golf, pickle ball, tennis, food truck evenings, and soon-to-be pool reopening with friends and food at the patio tables nearby.
Many new residents have bought here so quickly lately, to become acquainted with all we do and plan, to add new volunteers to our committees and activities, to enlist their creative talents to our problem-solving skills and outcomes. We have learned well from this past year’s demands: stocking up wisely, focusing on others, realigning priorities, and slowing down with purpose. All signs of spring are here, and we’re ready to participate as summer nears!
