Thankfulness
Posted on Nov 1st, 2025

The iconic word for this month means so many things to each of us. Residents in Four Seasons at Elm Tree’s well-established community have each other, dependable neighbors and their help bringing us calm and friendships. By now, the local harvesting is done, and we are pumpkin-happy as they decorate inside and outside our homes. Simple pleasures resume as we find our wool sweaters, delight in the aromas from oven-baked treats, take brisk walks under blue skies.
Our activities now include the annual Veteran’s Day service featuring our Season’s Singers during our memorial. Election Day is always noted on our November calendar, as well. And, Daylight Savings’ Time is still with us, now giving us an extra hour to spend as we wish. Before we decorate the clubhouse for the holidays, there will be a trivia night, a talent program and a pot luck supper to enjoy together.
Our shrubs and trees are being trimmed for us, so we can use our time to volunteer, exercise well, spend time with family and friends. As we plan a day for Thanksgiving dinner, we continue to support the Mount Joy Food Bank with our donations, adding the special food drive through the Scouts this month.
Caring and warmth are particular trademarks for this month, although we know they’re constants throughout the year here; we feel more grateful for good health and happiness as winter comes.
