It’s still the red planet, Mars, and quite visible in the new month of March. Within the first week, we finally are given the time change wherein sunsets are later, offering more brightness and pleasure as spring comes nearer.
Already, here in Four Seasons at Elm Tree, bulbs are pushing through the soil amidst the thawing snows. By the time the equinox arrives around the 20th, we shall be outdoors more after our landscapers edge plots and apply the mulch where we can grow new plants!
Our online calendar shows many activities scheduled as regulars like Book Club, Movie Night, exercising, Yoga, ladies’ and men’s luncheons accompany a tour of Hershey and its chocolate history and a spring wreath-making craft day! New landscape updates will be emailed to us again with reminders for best practices.
The Ides are on a Sunday just before St. Patrick’s Day celebrations perhaps with corned beef & cabbage, TV parades, green beer fests!? Neighbors who were snow birds are home enjoying time with us again. We’ll be thinking of patio cleaning, planning garage clearing, and the usual spring cleaning indoors and out.
However, March is a hard month to trust; if you choose not to find joy in the snows, you’ll have less joy in your life but the same amount of snow. Keep the wooly blankets and sweaters at hand, and continue to enjoy hot chocolate! The flowers and buds are coming as they are showing us now!
