                                         OPENING
We knew it was coming! Amidst the freezes, the high winds, the icy
walkways there always was the promise of a real spring once again. Now,
we shall throw open windows, doors and let the smells from a warming
earth and flowering plants rush in.
With Earth Day scheduled on April 22, we are reminded of the many
ways we can help. The local Lions’ Club collects specific types of plastics
to be repurposed into benches, and luckily, we can bring donations to our
clubhouse. Dart Industries in Lancaster recycles plastic foam; the city has
a wonderful collection center to drop off items such as newspapers,
cardstock, magazines, etc. which are not for curbside pickup. With higher
gas prices now, we also can benefit ourselves by trying to adjust our
appointments and outings to minimal driving times, lessening gas usage.
Green thumbs will be well-used often as many houses show trimmed
flower beds, new perennials and annuals coloring the mulched areas just
done by our landscape contractor. The crew keeps quite busy as changes
are made to some areas, freshening the curb appeal. Landscape
guidelines are always available on our Four Seasons’ web site.
Passover and Easter will start April with food and fun traditions, family
gatherings and outings. Our monthly newsletter suggests many regular
activities, and some new ones, which we can try easily at the clubhouse or
arrange to do with our friends and neighbors. And the season for golf and
pickleball is here!
Don’t miss the Pink Moon, April 1…the first full, spring moon and
named for the mossy wildflower appearing now! Happy Spring!
