As we, at Four Seasons at Elm Tree, await the colored stages changing the confinements felt now, we also gather vicariously and technologically for celebrations with family and friends. Many, in our over-55 community, have expressed their gratifying education of Zoom and Skype. Even Real- tors are using those as means to promote access to the homes here, ready for sale! One may be auctioned this summer, too.
Despite the data debates, keeping well-informed has allowed us to open our pool, provisionally with social distancing, fairly easy to do using the new lounge furniture there. In the same way, the Cancer Support group still schedules meetings, some of us will travel to our new voting location on Primary Election Day, and masks are worn by agreement for patio and neighborly gatherings in this summer weather.
Our productive attitudes allow us to expect the average, enjoy any above average, and stay disciplined throughout the below average. Walking past the ponds, noticing the birds’ nests hidden among our awnings and plants, sharing good recipes, playing interactive games online, adding to flower beds, and knowing we are moving that proverbial stone up the hill, help us physically and mentally during this extraordinary time.
Daily Questions during Shutdown:
1. What am I grateful for today?
2. With whom am I checking or connecting?
3. How can I get outside and move my body awhile?
4. What beauty am I either creating, cultivating, or inviting in today?
