While we may not need nor be able to use AI and Robotics here in Four Seasons at Elm Tree, we are experiencing less contact with others during our shutdown time. SE Asians are deeming “untact” as the best method to ensure productivity and efficiency where possible! Perhaps the local Realtors are employing such means to virtually tour you through the homes for sale here now?
Many of us in our over-55 community have used the past months wisely to clean and clear what possibly isn’t needed anymore; soon, the thrift shops will be overwhelmed with good items our children may not want. Updating executor files and records also has been a worthwhile way to be more relaxed as we continue to plan our retirement years. Scarlett O’Hara is well known to have said: “I won’t think about that now. I’ll think about that tomorrow.” But, we know we shouldn’t procrastinate such meaningful efforts. Many of us readily help each other with guidance for this necessary work.
In between the rainfalls and sunburning days, we’ve distanced to play Pickleball, Bocce, golf and tennis, participated in water aerobics, cards, billiards, exercises and biking, used our library, hot tub, outdoor swimming pool and walking path often enough to free our spirits and keep in touch with one another. But, we do look forward to resuming men’s and women’s luncheons, Book Club and more Happy Hours.
The splendid writer, Voltaire, remarked: “No snowflake in an avalanche ever feels responsible.” Wear your masks and protect all of us until we are safe once again!
