     Mother Nature really made us wait this winter, lulling us into months and a holiday season of milder temperatures and weather. So, she burst forth and allowed almost 30 inches of snow to fall in about 30 hours on January 22-23. Lancaster County got record-breaking amounts.

     Plows were out constantly, giving precedence to those on the medical concerns' list. The views were stunning and, no doubt, many of us photographed the sights and sent them to friends and family in warmer climes.

     The three HOA board members of our over-55 community were updating us via email throughout the hours, answering questions readily. Without newspapers and mail, we could read the news online and phone each other to share what was happening.

     Times like this make us aware of how helpful our community is! People were checking with each other, ready to help if needed. You can be sure many more books were read and cookies were baked during the "confinement"! We will have tales to tell and remember once the thaw brings spring.
