Weather...or not

Weather…or not!
Gusts of western winds have cleansed away the old year’s spirits here at Four Seasons at Elm Tree. Our over-55 community is very alive with so many activities to share with each other, new friends and family, albeit mostly indoors this season. Thankfully, our renovated clubhouse handles so many of us as we become busy with our choices in the workout room, the Library Room, Fireplace Room, Billiards’ Room or kitchen. The Social Commitee is creating some new plans to schedule soon, too!
Laughing and singing are high on the list for longevity, and we certainly know how to make that happen often! And, be delighted that the antioxidants in cocoa make that treat extra welcome now with our leftover Christmas cookies.
The January calendar in Denmark stresses hygge (HYU-gah) as a time of cold but solitude, such a good feeling of life centered around coziness and companionship, easy to do with neighbors close to us. Men’s and Women’s monthly lunches, the upcoming Ladies’ High Tea, or a pleasant cup of coffee at a friend’s following a brisk walk on the park’s path nearby or through our neighborhood help fill the time when not trying new recipes, reading new books or planning a new trip in the new year.
Whether or not some of us travel south for parts of the next months, those of us in snug homes at Four Seasons at Elm Tree, watching some peaceful snowfalls, (while not plowing and shoveling!), feel sheltered and warm from friendships, mulled cider and relaxation.
