Changing Seasons
Posted on Oct 1st, 2015
At Four Seasons at Elm Tree, we are very familiar with seasonal transitions, now feeling summer waning slowly to a warm autumn, thus far! No-white-after-Labor-Day may have us switching wardrobes, but we see on the calendar that activities also have changed. Our over-55 neighborhood is planning and scheduling new social times as well as renewing old favorites.
The very acclaimed Four Seasons Singers will resume practicing soon, with community concerts, and our own holiday concert, set already. The pool has closed, so some exercise is indoors, and the hardy golfers and tennis players are still getting in a few more games. We regularly see bikers and walkers out, if weather agrees.
The Women's Association has upcoming art and crafts' activities, including a field trip to a gourds' farm near Carlisle. The Men's and the Women's Luncheons out each month are adding the beach folk who have returned, and many of us have fewer visitors now that grandchildren are back to school. We continue to hear travelers' stories as they rate their trips, sharing photos and mementoes.
Some of our homes have had porches and landscaping added for outdoor enjoyment during the summer, and flowers planted by our Garden Club are still in full bloom around the clubhouse. Driveways have been sealed, the clubhouse parking lot was, too...and the carpets there have been cleaned! So, we certainly are ready to feel that nip in the air as we welcome autumn and more fun here!
