    From temperatures climbing throughout October to mimic August to quick changes with rainy, chilly days at month’s end, we, living in Four Seasons at Elm Tree, have managed to acclimate very well as we zip into November’s days of holiday preparations. Hallowe’en in an over-55 residential community often means sharing photos of the grandchildren dressed for Trick or Treating fun. Celebrating Dia de los Muertos the next day brings even more fun, foods, and memories of loved ones. 

    Frosty mornings are upon us with dried leaves underfoot during our walks around the neighborhood or as we access the path behind us. Brighter leaf colors await, but there have been pumpkins and apples galore for recipes and scents. Mums are everywhere!

    Creative friends are preparing an Art & Craft Show while the Four Seasons’ Singers rehearse their scheduled holiday concert. We continue to mark our calendars when noting activities in the monthly newsletter and email notices. New exercising and yoga are happening regularly in our clubhouse; Scouting for Food occurs once again; our veterans will be honored on their special day. Our social integration, as we gather and volunteer, builds resilience and an even stronger immune system. 

    Sunsets here produce a sense of wonder despite the cooler evenings and crisp morning air…shorter days are on the horizon! William Blake wrote: “In seed time, learn; in harvest time, teach; in winter…enjoy.”
