Seasons come and go, and all of life changes alongside them. Our Four Seasons at Elm Tree community continues to broaden our horizons through learning by doing and from new neighbors with lessons we haven’t been taught! As is said, wisdom comes with age! We’re now thinking of holiday preparations…perhaps some travel to family and friends? Very colorful leaves have created a beautiful autumn season this year, and we’ve had them mulched by the mowing we didn’t have to do! Such free time is spent chatting with new residents at many clubhouse events, or just in the backyard. Busyness might include regular singing group practices, Pickleball, morning exercising, browsing the library, card games at our leisure, a little more golf before a frost comes, and walking our dogs along the township path. Scheduled on the monthly calendar will be the covered dish suppers, Happy Hours, our holiday crafts’ show, bowling team dates, helpful lectures, and ever new plans from our Social Committee. As we settle into warmer homes with hearty meals, we readily contemplate those without so much and remember to contribute to the Mount Joy Food Bank. Our monthly donations are greatly appreciated, and some of us volunteer there each week. We decorate with pumpkins and mums, Indian corn and bright gourds, making a walk through the neighborhood extra pleasant! Soon, this will change to red and green, sparkly festive designs…change is coming, all the time.
