On Saturday, December 6th, the Four Seasons Needlers and the Four Seasons Singers collaborated on a joint venture!  The Four Seasons Needlers went to the Masonic Children’s Home in Elizabethtown to present the 40 scarves that they had crocheted and knitted for the 40 children in residence there.

 
 
The Needlers had been working on the scarves during the months of September, October, and November.  At their December meeting, they labeled each scarf, placed it in a gift bag, and added tissue paper.  They then transported the 40 scarves to the Masonic Village and placed them on a gift table.  At the end of the evening, each child was invited to pick up a gift bag containing a handmade scarf.  The children were genuinely pleased and happy with the gifts!  Both the children and the director of the home were so appreciative of the generosity of the Needlers and their efforts.  Furthermore, the Singers were genuinely impressed with the work that the Needlers had done to make all 40 scarves!  It was truly heartwarming and rewarding!
 
Prior to the presentation, the Four Seasons Singers presented a concert and sing-a-long to the children and their house parents.  They sang a repertoire of “Christmas is the Best Time of the Year,” “Swinging with Santa,” “Hot Chocolate,” “Jolly Ole Saint Nick,” and others.  However, one of the children’s favorites was “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas,” as many sang along and Bob Spickler circulated the room with a stuffed hippopotamus!   It was a real pleasure and delight to perform for such enthusiastic and lively children!
 
At the end of the evening, 22 of the Needlers and Singers went out to dinner at Hennigan’s Restaurant, where they enjoyed good food and good fellowship!  Everyone relaxed and chatted about the evening.  It was a very rewarding experience, and a good time was had by all.
