Especially at this time of year, we extend ourselves even more than usual to help make the holiday season warm and happier for those with less than we have.  Four Seasons at Elm Tree men and women have shown, repeatedly, ways in which we can care and give back throughout the year. However, the holidays make us especially aware of many real needs right here, in our living area.

 

The Scouting for Food donations we have accumulated go directly to our Mount Joy Food Pantry nearby, and a neighbor's grandson plays an important part in collecting this food! Home-baked cookies, notes and cards of thanks and goodwill were mailed recently to several addresses of stationed troops throughout the world.

 

The Women's Association has raised contributions for particular projects each December. In 2015, donations of $2,000 are expected towards a First Responder Medical Assistance kit for another of the police cars in the Rapho-Manheim Police Dept. area. Surely, that will happen very soon!

 

Already the Toys for Tots bin is overflowing with games, dolls and toys, a well-known, traditional project supported by a neighbor's interest in this way of giving to children.

 

No doubt there are many other personal responses to certain organizations, churches and charities that we may support making us more grateful for what we have and enjoy as the joyous Christmas season approaches.
