     Women are wearing red this month at Four Seasons at Elm Tree to recognize our battles with cancer. Of course, the Super Bowl celebration at the clubhouse began the month with some people turning red at the outcome! Pizza and a warm fire there made the viewing extra nice.

     Soon after, the Women’s Association’s Chocolate Walk had a more brown color palette with delicious entries to sample, and we took home new recipes and smiles for a very pleasant time spent with friends, new and old.

     The Groundhog Day results didn’t matter to most of us who are used to the cold and minimal snow, usually, but others have gone to warmer climes to await the true end of winter. Then, many tones of red decorated the clubhouse at our over-55 community for the Valentine’s Day dinner; the feast was a bustling spot and many wonderful photos record it on our website. Red, white and blue will be shown in the American flags flying from many of our houses over Presidents’ Day weekend. The extra vacation day gives us a chance to spend some time with working friends and family, especially grandchildren!

     Ending the month with Mardi Gras will mean more baking being done here as well as our enjoying the annual, traditional Fastnacht doughnuts famous in Lancaster County. It’s a shorter month, but one ready-made for parties and fun here!
