Water Moon?
June’s moon, by Native American lore, should be related to farming, but even the Lancaster farmers have had their fill of rainwater by now! Here, at Four Seasons at Elm Tree, we’re delighted when the rains allow the pond to become deep enough for the fountain there to spray beautifully, especially when lit at night.
The egret has come back to the pond, even though the blue heron wasn’t seen recently since the grasses are gone. Walking the path there is a treat; listening to the frogs and toads, watching a sunset reflected in the water, naming the birds seen frequently are all nature’s delights for us.
Our over-55 community has enjoyed a new evening of murder mystery, offering us the chance to dress in Hawaiian attire and act the roles for such fun! The Activity Committee certainly creates inviting ways for us to meet and enjoy time together.
The Pickleball Court (aka tennis court) has been striped for seasonal games and instruction. The players even have racquets available if we do not! And, they’ve added an app for assuring game numbers!
Despite the wet weather and cooler breezes, our swimming pool has been newly surfaced and tiled for summer days of cooling off and exercising. Water aerobics has been scheduled again, and relaxation under the new pavilion allows shade when desired.
Of course, Four Seasons is still helping others via Food Bank donations at the clubhouse, especially needed for children while school is closed for the summer. Our Women’s Association has noted dates and items needed for the Stuff-a-Backpack campaign this month. These supplies are given to local students just before the start of school again.
The moon shines brightly on all of us enjoying retirement here in so many ways!
