     Wonderful red, white and blue activities abound here this week! Some are really old-fashioned treats with historic overtones and family traditions, too! Our Four Seasons at Elm Tree residents will have their own cookout foods, celebrating at another clubhouse gathering, this time by the pool! 

     Happily, the best brain foods are in season now: varieties of leafy greens, and have to love the anthocyanin in fresh blueberries, keeping us extra mentally alert! We’re checking the many country farm stands, noticing other special offerings in the process, recommending some to neighbors. It’s so good to support the local farmers as they watch with grateful eyes for those thunder clouds and rain! We’ve had our share; the grass is green again, but more is welcomed during such hazy days of heat. However, the salt water swimming pool gives us cooler times to enjoy each other, refresh, and exercise a bit. 

     Hot Dog & Burger Nights are coming soon. Many of us choose biking or golf, Bocce or Pickleball, tennis and walking, even new Cornhole games for needed movement. We are out and about, for sure! 

     The summer equinox is gone, thus days are becoming shorter, alas, but the Buck Moon, a supermoon this time, appears July 3rd evening, just after sunset! Perfect timing to dazzle the sky for the 4th! 

     Awesome fireworks’ displays are scheduled throughout the county, and we know how to cultivate our own awe, unleashing the better angels of our nature, extending the impacts well beyond our own welfare. Sparkling others, too!
