Four Seasons at Elm Tree Gives Back
Posted on Aug 20th, 2015
Everyone is keeping busy with beach trips, family outings and visiting friends and grandchildren. However, the many volunteers from our over-55 community are continuing to help our neighbors this summer.
The various committees at Four Seasons at Elm Tree are comprised of residents who care enough to give their time to needs and activities benefiting all of us. Citing just a few groups, the Landscape Committee, especially in the spring and summer, helps us add trees and plants to our mulched areas for even more personal enjoyment. Communications Committee composes the monthly newsletter and calendar which we so depend upon, and it has added the Marketing Committee to assist all of us when selling our homes.
Recently, the Women's Association has renewed its Stuff-A-Backpack project which asks us to donate school supplies and backpacks for students grades K-12 in two local school districts. A neighborhood youth center distributes these necessary supplies to many who are in need.
The ongoing contributions to our Troops stationed overseas continues monthly. We know what they appreciate best after doing this for several years and so we contribute things like snack foods, thick socks and small toiletries. We have heard from some groups who are delighted especially with the Easter candies and Christmas cookies, but they distribute and enjoy all that comes in their treat boxes. Special notes and cards add to the positive feeling accompanying our packages.
In any season, many of us give back an hour or much more as we can to help each other and those outside the community.
