Moving On
Posted on Aug 31st, 2022

Our weather here at Four Seasons at Elm Tree remains hot during September, but as Shakespeare wrote: “Summer’s lease hath too short a date.”
Therefore, we over-55 residents know that now we must regroup, realize vacations for family and their visits might be over, and our own extra fun may just begin! So many seniors travel during the days after school starts, to find great deals, off-season rates… and maybe less traffic?
The clubhouse will renew indoor activities as the pool closes, water aerobics end, and picnicking there will lessen soon as well. However, there are always new ideas from some of us and the Social Committee to keep things moving along.
Following the Labor Day gathering, there are: the Murder Mystery dinner nearby, plenty of Pickelball and golf days left, ( although bowling teams are almost ready to start! ), our walking group resuming, Pot Luck dinners replacing Hot Dog & Hamburger evenings, more billiards, indoor board and card games scheduled, plus all that our newsletter and calendar inform us to do. Many choices to check!
Exercising continues well all year, whether we use the Workout Room, attend the morning yoga and movement sessions, or walk the neighborhood or township park’s path as far as we like to go…with or without our dogs! Most of us have realized the great benefits from continuous motion, opting for careful exercises to help us age well. Nutritious diets add to that, and our local produce is a big bonus for a Meatless Monday or salads as snack foods. Wellness and happiness combine to bring us a new season of activity and friends at home here.
