SEPTEMBER
Not the seventh month anymore, but a transitional one we have come to acknowledge with benefits to us. We, at Four Seasons at Elm Tree, have said good luck to grandchildren restarting school, farewell to families leaving us and their vacations behind. But, shorter daylight hours will lead towards cooler, crisper air by end of month with the full Harvest Moon shining on the 26th.
Our own getaways can be planned with off-season rates, fewer travelers, many senior offerings and plenty of relaxation. Our salt water pool and water aerobics close the 20th just before the official first day of Autumn on the 22nd.
Meanwhile, Book Club and Movie Nights resume; our community yard sale is scheduled; a flu shots’ clinic is on the calendar; the Labor Day potluck afternoon is upcoming, and a final Burgers-Hot Dogs’ Supper donated by our Keystone contractors follows.
We have been busy enjoying the summer produce which is so fresh and plentiful near us, helping to check our neighbors’ homes while they are away, and walking outdoors on our path through the township park just up the hill!
Now, we should resettle a bit more into activities here and note well how many of us volunteer on the Board and supporting committees, benefitting all of us well each day. Some openings are available for help as elaborated in our monthly newsletter. Talk to your friends who are involved, and find a spot where you also can join to use your talents and skills!
Keep Cool and Carry On!
