     It’s here! Suddenly, December is upon us in Mount Joy, PA, with all the preparations and planning accompanying our schedules! Lancaster County brings abundant opportunities to celebrate the season from folk country styles to modern creative shows. Each town happily seems to share its tree-lighting, Santa shops, train displays and shopping fun. Wonderful historic homes and museums offer special events with music, exhibits, tours and activities for all. Our grandchildren and visitors have looked forward to enjoying so much with us, especially special holiday treats!

     Our own baking brings scents and warmth to our kitchens and meals; background music makes the busy days pleasant as we write, wrap, cook, trim and stay warm by the fireplace or by wearing our comfy wool sweaters. 

     We consult our monthly calendar for dates we want to reserve, although some clubs and groups are not meeting this month to allow for the extra times to gather and share. The luncheons are still scheduled as are exercising and food bank donating. Our newsletter gives us updated information about snow removal, for which we are very grateful! 

     Four Seasons’ Singers once again start this month with their holiday performance in the clubhouse, always a treat for all of us, even our guests. Our clubhouse has been decorated for a festive feeling during the season. Early December brings a super moon, and the Geminid Meteor Shower will be seen mid-month…perhaps over a silvery snow scene? 

     Have your afghan handy for relaxation after all the month’s hustle and bustle!
