SHINE ON

     The Harvest Moon is the 17th this year, just before the equinox weekend. The September sky is truly bluer due to less air humidity and a lower sun. At Four Seasons at Elm Tree, we’ll have shifted seasons to warmer clothes, cooler temperatures, and maybe using the oven again…?! 

      Another season moves us along throughout the year, hot summer into crisp autumn air! Sunsets will be earlier, although they are so colorful quite often in Lancaster County. As our salt water swimming pool closes, we replace those days of fun with other activities such as bowling, cards and board games, billiards and pool, indoor stretching and exercising rather than water aerobics. Committees are busy updating us, planning for security and economy, and asking for new ideas from all of us here. Book Club and movie discussions will be held. A busy day of yard sales is upcoming with many of us registered to help clear out better. There’s even a wine tasting event this month! 

     For many of us retirees, there is enjoyment in fall traveling, thankful for  fewer tourists, lower prices, easier traffic, and beautiful scenery almost everywhere! But here at home in Mount Joy, we see corn fields harvested, decorative pumpkins, chrysanthemums blooming, apples for picking, and local town fairs on the calendars! Take pleasure in the move to fall days!
